Butterball - America's largest turkey producer shuts their Colorado plant down. The company says "Business just isn’t what it used to be. The cost of producing turkey is significantly reducing Butterball’s profits and rising grain prices are partly to blame." This will prevent millions of turkeys from suffering broken legs, wings, and live scalding!
The Colorado plant is one of six Butterball plants in the United States, with a little hope (and protesting), the other plants will follow. The multimillion dollar company is known for their outrageous cruelty to turkeys. Turkeys are thrown into transport crates, shipped in extreme weather conditions, and then slammed in metal shackles upside down in the slaughterhouse, many of them have their throats slit while they are still alive, and able to feel pain...if they're not lucky enough to bleed out, they are boiled alive in de-feathering tanks! You can help stop this cruelty by adopting a vegan lifestyle. This thanksgiving, try Tofurky!
